THE DUST MUSEUM

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The following statement is a summary of a speech given by Zenith Pitts on the 16th of June 2004

Owing to the effects of the catastrophic, highly localised earthquake, now identified as "Tremor 157",  The Dust Museum is now closed to the public until further notice.

Both the building and the collection it housed have sustained significant damage.  The major problem confronting us is that the exhibits, some of which date back to the 8th Century BCE,  have been contaminated with the fragmented fabric of the building. Work has already begun on the recovery and repair of the museum and it's contents.  The painstaking task of separating the exhibits from the smaller particulates released into the gallery environments will inevitably take many months. Whilst this process takes place, the board of directors of The Dust Museum have determined to transfer the repository of dust knowledge onto this website in what can only be described as a desperate attempt to perpetuate this field of study in such adverse conditions.
